Find out why it is so important for every business
to have their own professional website.
Over the last 40 years, the internet has gone from a newborn to a grown adult. If you grew up in the 80s and 90s you might remember having a dinosaur of a computer that was very limited in its abilities. Now we use computers and the internet for everything; school, work, shopping, trading, conversing, writing, creating, etc. Because of the massive amount of time consumers spend on the internet, it is vital for your business to have an online presence.
A website will help establish credibility for your business, especially if your website is created well. Whatever your business is, does, or represents, if customers cannot find you on the internet, they will most likely look for another business to fulfill their needs. This is one area of marketing that I recommend splurging on. Find a web designer in your area, ask around if you need to (or just search the internet, *wink wink!). Depending on the designers pricing, you might be able to find a good deal, or negotiate a set price for your site. It does not have to be a crazy, fancy site that is loaded with information. It just needs to be clean, professional, and informative about what your business does and how customers can get in contact with you.
In addition, a website can be used as more than just stationary marketing media. It can also be used as a place to sell your products, for customers to make an appointment, and where your business can post about upcoming events or announcements. In an article on the PixoLabo website about small business website statistics, we learn, “More than half (51 percent) [of small business owners] say that they have increased their interactions with their clients over the Internet,” (Saita, 2021). Because of the pandemic, more people are using the internet more often. At this point, if you do not have a website to represent your business, you are all but invisible to potential clients.
Having a website can also save you and your customer’s time. It is important to provide basic information about your business along with the services you provide at what prices. If customers are finding the information they need on the website, they will not have to contact you until they are ready to order or get a quote (Kaplan, 2020). This saves time and will possibly reduce miscommunication as your customer can clearly find the information they need from your site as opposed to trying to explain something over the phone or through email.
In conclusion, whether you run a small business with three employees, or you manage an international corporation, your business should be represented by a well-designed website. Your customers will be able to find information easily and credibility will be established. Ad Design, Inc. designs and creates websites and webstores.
